A WILTSHIRE artist has designed a new set of six stamps released by the Royal Mail.
Tanya Achilleos Lock, of Hilperton Road, Trowbridge, painted the stamps in oils.
They all feature the successful re-introduction of birds, animals and plants which had disappeared from the British countryside.
They include the Eurasian beaver and pool frog, as well as the sand lizard, osprey, large blue butterfly and stinking hawkswood plant.
Tanya said: "I was awarded the commission in 2015, when I had only been painting for five years.
"They were going to bring them out in 2016 but for one reason or another it didn't happen."
Tanya painted the stamps at home in Trowbridge but also has a studio at the Tithebarn Workshops in Bradford on Avon.
She was taught to paint by her step-father Raymond Harris Ching, who illustrated the British Book of Birds.
Tanya will sign the set of stamps at the main Trowbridge Post Office on Saturday from 10am to 12 noon.
