WARMINSTER'S Lake Pleasure Grounds have been recognised as one of the best green spaces in the UK for the second year running as it achieves Green Flag status.
The grounds, which cover 6.5 hectares and can be found just outside the town centre are amoungst 1,883 UK parks and green spaces that have been given the prestigious Green Flag Award, the mark of a quality park or green space.
The award recognises that the Lake Pleasure Grounds boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.
Councillor Denis Brett said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award for a second year in a row.
"It is a tribute to all those involved.
“We know how much quality green spaces matter to residents and visitors, and this award celebrates the dedication that goes into maintaining the Lake Pleasure Grounds to such a high standard.”
