Westbury Court Care Home enjoyed the summer sunshine with an afternoon picnic last week.

The annual summer party is designed for residents to get together with their family, friends and local community to enjoy, with a variety of fun and games as well as performances from the likes of singer Francesca K.

The Westbury town crier, John Hadfield, opened the event, which got everybody in the

spirit and brought a sense of community.

The guests cooled down with ice creams along with traditional tea party refreshments such as freshly baked cakes by the staff, tea and coffee and other treats.

The games included a wine or water stall, coconut shy, tombola and a raffle. As the families enjoyed the good weather and entertainment, there were also stalls set up around the garden selling crafts such as web

creations and items for both children and adults.

Suzanne Holmes, activities co-ordinator, said: β€œIt was brilliant. There were certainly lots of friends and family to join us.”
