AN historic abbey was invaded by ghosts, ghouls and sorcerers as it hosted a Hallowe’en themed witches and wizards activity day for kids.
Arts and crafts, magicians and storytellers kept visitors to Lacock Abbey entertained today, with the event held in the abbey’s cloisters, which were used to shoot scenes for the Harry Potter films.
Karen Bolger, visitor services manager at the abbey, said: “We wanted to put something extra on for families visiting during half-term, and this ties in with Hallowe’en. The cloisters really lends itself to the theme. We had a huge turnout with lots in fancy dress and we’re really pleased.”
Particularly popular with the children were the visiting falcons and owls, supplied by Wings and Talons.
“The kids were absolutely fascinated by them,” Mrs Bolger said.
