TESCO has submitted a planning application to locate two micro wind turbines in the car park of their store in County Way, Trowbridge.
The turbines, standing at 10.6m tall, would each have the potential to generate enough power to fuel four average UK hines. Between them they would prevent 48 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year.
A spokesman for Tesco said: “These installations are part of our long-term commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of our stores by the use of renewable energy sources.”
