A 23-YEAR-OLD man from Westbury has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply after a series of burglaries near Westbury and Frome.
Six burglaries occurred at homes in Bratton, Edington, Brokerswood and Frome on Thursday and Friday last week.
A blue Volkswagen Golf GTI with the registration P667 XPT was spotted at the scene of one of the burglaries and was later located by police, who found stolen property inside.
Drugs were also found at a house in Westbury as a result of police inquiries.
The 23-year-old man has been released on police bail pending further inquires.
PC Simon Childe, of the Melksham Priority Crime Team, said: “I appeal for any members of the public that have seen or have information about the vehicle since November 1 to contact me. I am especially keen to identify any occupants of the vehicle.
“Burglaries are serious crimes which have can have a considerable impact on the victim’s life.
“However the number of house burglaries is falling in Wiltshire, and we are determined to bring to justice those responsible for these crimes.”
