AN ENGLISH Civil War re-enactment society will descend on Bradford on Avon this weekend complete with muskets and canons.
The Sealed Knot will be turning back the clock to the 17th century for a mock battle at the Three Horseshoes pub in Frome Road on Sunday (25th).
Pub landlord Shaun Dobson said: “They are brilliant - very authentic.
“It’s quite awe-inspriring when you see them marching down the road with all their gear.”
The society, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, is made up of men and women from across the country.
Some will travel from as far away as Hampshire to join up to 40 members of the society, who will be marching in full costume from the pub, from midday, to the railway station car park and into nearby Victory field where the demonstration will take place.
Firing will start at 3pm followed by a group skirmish.
The Sealed Knot visits schools and lays on displays to educate people about the Civil War era.
