An open day being held at St James’ Church in Trowbridge tomorrow offers the chance to learn more about the historic building and climb the bell tower.
There will be floral displays marking church festivals throughout the year and their colours, organ music and displays of church activities.
Churchwarden Ros Histed said: “We shall have plenty of stewards in place to welcome visitors, chat to them and tell them about the building, its history and architecture.
“They may also enjoy just wandering around and looking at the place.
“It’s amazing how often someone comes in and says that they go past every day and have never been inside before.”
The open day runs from 10am to 5pm.
A fire destroyed much of the roof in the late 1980s and then a couple of years later, during the great storm of 1990, the spire fell down and crashed through the roof.
