Good luck to the kids on their week off but perhaps their teachers could go back to the closed schools during half-term to make up for all the days off they took - on full pay - during the recent school closures during the 'bad' weather. I'm sure there are hundreds of maintenance jobs they could help out with and no specialist skills will be needed other than the ability to handle a paint brush - which I'm sure even a teacher could master. That way the taxpayers might get some recompense for their enforced, but wasted, expenditure.

What an excellent idea Vox Pop. Pity it won't happen. They'll just trot out the usual health & safety excuses that they use to get them out of anything they don't want to do. Not to mention insurance.

I sometimes wonder how they manage to get dressed in the mornings & still keep within H & S guidelines

Well done to the organisers of these activities, most parents cannot afford expensive day trips out and these activities sound interesting.
