Saturday will see the first Day of Prayer in Trowbridge, where hundreds of people are expected to take part in a day of worship to celebrate the town and its people.
The event will centre on Holy Trinity Church between 9am and 5pm, where there will be prayers said throughout the day, focusing on eight different areas of the community – media and the arts, local business, the council, voluntary organisations, health, recreation, education and the emergency services.
Each of the prayer sessions will be supported by displays about each topic.
There will also be pray stations outside the town’s Sainsbury’s and Knees stores, where people can post their prayers.
From 5-6.30pm there will be a youth ‘spot’ with creative activities going on at Holy Trinity, and at 7pm the day ends with a service with Rev Lyndon Bowring as a guest speaker.
