West Ashton wind farm plan meeting tonight West Ashton wind farm plan meeting tonight

The three-turbine wind farm proposed at a site near West Ashton will be discussed at tonight (Wednesday) at a meeting organised by a local campaign group.

Chaired by Cate Mack of the Campaign to Protect Rural England, the meeting will be held at West Ashton Village Hall at 7.30pm.

The wind farm at Grange Farm, with 130m high masts, is proposed by REG Windpower, with a planning application expected around September.

The meeting will include a presentation on the local proposal by Stop Grange Farm Wind Farm action group, and another from a Dorset group who have already defeated a wind farm application.

Local group member Judy Glasson said: "This meeting comes at a time when West Ashton parishioners have been canvassed for their views of the proposal and 85 per cent have voted against.

"Also the Jersey-based developer, Renewable Energy Generation, is actively seeking sites for its noise monitoring surveys in advance of its planning application.

"We look forward to seeing as many people there as possible."

The sooner these subsidy catcher sticks are history the better.

Also, how many people at Wiltshire Council have the words "climate change" or "global warming" in their job titles or job description?
