Fun for all the family is on offer in Westbury on Sunday, when the town’s Lions Club holds it seventh annual Donkey derby at the White Horse Country Park, in the shadow of the White Horse.

Eight donkey races, with children aboard to urge the animals towards the finish line, will begin at 1pm.

As well as cheering them on, mums and dads can also enjoy a wager on the outcome, and there are fairground rides to enjoy, Star Wars characters to meet and greet, a bouncy castle, donkey rides without the races, face painitng and stalls.

The park, which is off the main A350 on the Trowbridge side of town, will open its gates at noon for the afternoon of fun, and entry costs just £5 for adults, with children free.

* In last week’s Wiltshire Times we incorrectly stated that the Donkey Derby was last weekend. We are sorry for any confusion.
