Dr Andrew Murrison Dr Andrew Murrison

South West Wiltshire MP Dr Andrew Murrison will be at the Commonwealth War Grave Commission memorial at Thiepval on Sunday to mark the 96th anniversary of the first day of the Battle of the Somme.

He will then hold meetings in northern France and Brussels in connection with his role as the Prime Minister’s Special Representative for the Centenary Commemoration of the First World War.

Dr Murrison said: "Armed Forces Day is all about recognising and celebrating today’s sailors, soldiers, airmen, our veterans and their families.

"So many have paid the price for ensuring our liberty in recent conflicts and as we approach the centenary of the Great War we will be reflecting on the extraordinary sacrifice of their predecessors."

Yes Dr Murrison, so many did pay the price for ensuring our liberty - the liberty which the present Government and it's predecessor seem hellbent on taking from us.
