A man has been charged with drink-driving after a car ploughed into a roundabout on the A350 near Semington.

Philip Phipps, 28, of Dursley Road, Trowbridge, was arrested following the incident in the early hours of Sunday.

A car, travelling from the direction of Melksham left the road and drove into shrubbery on the roundabout that joins the A350 and A361.

Phipps was charged with drink-driving, driving without a licence and driving without third party insurance.

He was released on bail to appear at North West Wiltshire Magistrates Court in Chippenham on July 20.

The only good thing here is that nobody was injured or killed because of this man. With those charges any sane judge will give a sentence behind bars as well as a driving ban when released.

What will a ban do, he didn't have a licence in the first place.
