RAIN held off for Seend Brownies as they celebrated the pack’s 90th anniversary on Saturday.
The village group was formed in 1922 and still meets on Mondays at the Irene Usher Memorial Hall.
On Saturday, the group celebrated at the hall and on the playing field, with a barbecue, games and a birthday cake.
Five new members took their Brownie Promise and the guests of honour were four former members of the pack, who were Brownies in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.
Leader Helen Hook said: “Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We had a lot of parental support and the Guides had done the barbecue for us and that was nice.
“I think it’s absolutely fabulous that we’re still going.”
Mrs Hook added that she would like to thank Seend Guides for doing the barbecue, and fellow leaders Claire Checkley and Serena Buckley-Humphries and the other helpers on the day.
“It was a real team effort,” she said.
