Chippenham teenager charged with further robbery offences

A teenager who is accused of carrying out a string of knifepoint robberies has been charged with three more offences.

Joseph Kingsley, 19, is said to have robbed Oakleys newsagents in Corsham on March 19, Costcutters in the town three days later, and McColls in Chippenham on April 9, and appeared at Swindon Crown Court accused of three further robberies of small shops.

No charges have been formally put to Kingsley, of Lower Field, Allington, Chippenham, and he has not entered any pleas to the seven charges of robbery or attempted robbery.

He was remanded in custody until Friday, September 21.

The teenager is also said to have held up a member of staff at the Esso on Kingshill Road, Swindon, on Friday, March 30, and tried to rob the Esso in Royal Wootton Bassett the following day.

A week later he is accused of robbing a worker at the Best One Express on Clifton Street, Swindon and is also accused of attempted robbery at the Hythe Road Store, Swindon, on Monday, April 9.
