Pupils at Southwick Primary School brought the great outdoors into their school for an-end-of-term art exhibition.

The school’s 150 pupils all contributed to the display, which was inspired by a visit to Shearwater Lake and the work of artist David Hockney.

During the trip, pupils took photographs of the landscape and used the images to develop their work for the exhibition, which included prints, sketches and needlework.

Each class also made two banners to help create their indoor woodland scene.

Paula Bartlett, of Southwick Primary School, said: “We had an amazing amount of parents who came to see the exhibition before the start of school on Wednesday and every child had at least two or three pieces in it that they’d created.

“There was a real buzz and a great level of enthusiasm for this project and it was a real team effort
