Among the stand-out students at John of Gaunt School in Trowbridge, which shares its sixth form with Clarendon College, was Florence Holbrook, 18, of Kingswood Close.
With an A* in psychology and As in chemistry, biology and maths, she was at the fore of a strong year group, who altogether achieved a 99 per cent pass rate.
She said: “I’m really pleased with these results, I’ll be able to go to study medicine at University College London, it is very exciting.”
Other youngsters who achieved A* grades were Rhianna Fricker, Joe Edwards, Fiona Lee, Imogen Loftus, Ellie Nicholls and Sasha West.
The school also improved its pass rate at AS-level by seven per cent.
Headteacher Andy Packer said: “I am really thrilled for all of them, and we wish them every success in their future careers.
“We have had fantastic support from parents who, together with our staff, have worked so hard to help them achieve these excellent results.
