Library to inspire a new play

ASPIRING actors are being invited to create and take part in a play to celebrate the opening of Trowbridge’s new library on September 12. As part of Trowbridge Arts Festival young people between the ages of eight and 14 will create the play on Saturday, September 15, in the morning working at Trowbridge Town Hall and then performing the show that afternoon at the new library at County Hall. Tracy Sullivan, director of Trowbridge Town Hall Trust and organiser of the Trowbridge Arts Festival, said: “This event is being supported by Salisbury Playhouse, which we hope marks the beginning of a regular youth theatre being run by this nationally recognised organisation with Trow-bridge Town Hall Trust.”

The day will be run by Ali Warren, teacher in residence at Salisbury Playhouse and head of drama at Clarendon College.

It costs £5 and participants will get a Trowbridge Arts Festival T-shirt to take home. To find out more, visit www.trowbridgeartsfestival. co.uk. Tickets can be bought from Trowbridge Infor- mation Centre or by calling 01225 765072.
