Arts festival takes centre stage in Trowbridge

Trowbridge's first arts festival starts Friday, marking the start of two weeks featuring dozens of attractions.

Among the performances during the festival, concluding on September 29, is stand-up comedy from Lee Hurst, pictured, at Trowbridge Civic Centre, a performance of Revolution! The Musical, which has just finished a successful debut run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, talks from bestselling crime writers Val McDermid and Mark Billingham, as well as solo performances from clarinettist Michael Collins, who has made several appearances at the Last Night of the Proms, and guitar supremo Gordon Giltrap.
