Wiltshire Air Ambulance Trust to hold first AGM
7:20pm Wednesday 26th September 2012 in Latest News
The Wiltshire Air Ambulance Charitable Trust will hold its first AGM next Wednesday.
It was a year ago that the air ambulance became a charity independent of Great Western Ambulance Service (GWAS).
It took many years of lobbying for GWAS to relinquish its sole trusteeship of the the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal.
The air ambulance relies entirely on donations from the public to keep flying and has to raise £700,000 a year. It is a shared helicopter with Wiltshire Police.
The AGM is at Devizes Town Hall at 7pm. There will be a review of the year and an opportunity to ask questions and meet trustees and some of the air ambulance crew.
Caroline Corrigan, head of fundraising at the charity, said: “This informal evening will celebrate more than 22 years as the county’s own air ambulance service and one year as an independent charity.
“We sincerely hope the community comes along and see how the funds raised have made a huge difference to the lives of so many. Places are limited so it is essential that you contact the office to book your place.”
