Bath and Trowbridge Ploughing Match abandonned

Bad weather and muddy conditions have forced the 67th Bath and Trowbridge Ploughing Match to be cancelled.
The annual event takes place at a different location each year and was due to be hosted in Atworth on October 17, but has had to be put back until next spring following heavy rainfall.
The competition, which is held in association with the national Society of Ploughmen, was also scheduled to include the National Young Farmers' Area Final for the Somerset and Dorset Area.
Celia Gay, secretary of the Bath and Trowbridge Ploughing Society, which runs the competition, said: “Like lots and lots of ploughing events, it’s just too wet to do it at the moment.
“The competition will probably take place next February or March time, if the weather holds out”.
