Garage turns to motorhomes trade to increase its sales potential
9:00pm Wednesday 17th October 2012 in Latest News
Despite a difficult year for the used car industry, one Melksham garage has bucked the trend and expanded into selling award-winning motorhomes.
Audi VW Cars has been selling used cars in the town for ten years, and after experiencing its best ever month has started stocking luxury motorhomes.
The garage stocks two ranges, Hillside Leisure and Wildax vehicles, which have both won national awards.
The company’s latest product is the Wildax Solaris, which has just been named Motorcaravan of the Year by Motorhome Monthly magazine.
The four-berth family vehicle has bunk beds and a large seating area which transforms into a double bed, and has been praised for its innovative design and space-saving layout.
The family-run company was started by Stephen Keenan 15 years ago, and has been based at its Melksham site for the last ten.
It has been selling motorhomes since March.
Operations manager Danny Hood said: “The company has had such a tremendous year we can afford to set this new business up with the award-winning homes.
“Our garage has managed to beat the recession thanks to the quality of what we sell, and the levels of service we provide. We’re an old-fashioned, family-run business, and we’re proud to be the only supplier in the south for both of these manufacturers”.
The Wildax Solaris retails from £42,995 new, with demonstration models available on request. For more information, visit www.
