A young woman who sustained serious injuries in a crash on the A36 near Wylye on Wednesday last week died in hospital on Saturday.
The woman, in her 20s, has yet to be formally identified by police, but they confirmed that she died at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, where she was airlifted after last week’s collision.
She was trapped unconscious in an Audi A3 after it collided with a Citroën Berlingo at around 8.45am, and suffered serious head and pelvic injuries and possibly further internal injuries.
She is expected to be identified later today (Monday).
The male driver of the car, also believed to be in his 20s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Salisbury District Hospital.
The male driver of the second vehicle was assessed and treated for minor injuries at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Devizes on 101 ext 7203111.

Immediate friends would have heard by the weekend, but have, out of respect, remained silent.
I would urge anybody therefore, to respect the views of the family of this young lady (whom I know as a friend of a friend) and let them have their private moments of grief! IF, and WHEN, they are ready for details to be made public - so be it!

Our thoughts must be for her family and friends at this time, and to respect their feelings.

PS:
I apologise if you thought I was criticising you. I was merely explaining that sometimes "not formally identified" means the family wish for the privacy that you have had the decency to respect!! I applaud you for that.
