Former Gloucestershire cricketer, Bristol and England rugby player and charity fundraiser Alastair Hignell will be speaking at Stonar School in Atworth next week.
After a professional career spanning two sports and time as a BBC commentator, in 1999 he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and is now patron of the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre. He was awarded a CBE in 2009 for his services to charity.
He will discuss his life and career from 7pm on Tuesday, in a talk entitled When the Goalposts Shift.
