IT may be 402 years since Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators plotted to blow up the Houses of Parliament, but events to celebrate the foiling of this audacious plan are taking place across west and north Wiltshire this weekend.
Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Wiltshire District Council have urged people to stay safe during this year's Bonfire Night celebrations. Here is our round-up of displays happening near you this weekend:
TONIGHT (Friday)
Biddestone: Bonfire and fireworks display at the village hall in Yatton Lane. Bonfire lit 6.30pm, fireworks 7pm. Hot dogs, chestnuts and burgers on sale. Tickets on the gate are £5 adults, £2.50 children under 16 and £12 family. Proceeds go to the village hall and recreation trust.
Broughton Gifford: Bonfire and fireworks to music on The Common. Fire lit 7pm. Beer tent, hot food and entertainment. Entry donation (suggested) £3 adults £1 children.
Heytesbury: Red Lion pub in High Street. Bonfire and fireworks display. Procession through the High Street will leave the Old Griffins site at 6.30pm. Tickets are £2.50 adults and 50p children.
Hilperton: Paxcroft Primary School. Gates open 6pm. Tickets are adults £3 and children over four £2
Westbury: Westbury Junior School. Bonfire and fireworks. Gates open 6.30pm, fire lit 7pm. Bouncy castle and barbecue. All tickets are £3 on gate.
TOMORROW (SATURDAY)
Bradford on Avon: The Beehive pub field - community fireworks display. Gates open 5pm with live music from Casino and Activate the Gibbon from 5.30pm. Barbecue, beer tent, bonfire, mulled wine and candyfloss. Fireworks start 7pm. Event organised by parents of pupils at Christ Church, Fitzmaurice and St Laurence Schools. Tickets on the gate £6 adults and £3 children.

Bratton: Recreation Ground. Northern Lights - British Musical Fireworks Champions. Torchlight procession from village green 6.30pm. Tickets are £5 adults and £3 children under 16. Organised by Bratton Jubilee Hall Management Committee.
Calne: John Bentley School. Fireworks display 6pm. Tickets on sale at Bank House or on gate.
Christian Malford: Bonfire night with fireworks at recreation ground. The winner of the guy competition 6pm, bonfire lit 6.30pm. Free sparklers for children, food and bar marquee, toffee apples, mulled wine and bouncy castles. Advance tickets, adults £4, under 16s £2 from the village shop or The Rising Sun, Mermaid and Foxham Inn pubs. Gate prices adults £6, under 16s £3. Under fives free.
Neston: Fireworks night at the recreation ground. Gates open 5pm and bonfire lit 6pm,
Fireworks start 6.45pm. Barbecue and stalls.
Sutton Veny: Fireworks display at Alexander Field. Starts at 6.30pm. Entry fee, donations invited.
Warminster: Warminster Garrison and Lions event at Land Warfare Centre in Imber Road. Fireworks and bonfire. Advance tickets £2.50, or £3 on gate. Children under 4 go free. Gates open 5.30pm, bonfire lit 6.45pm. Hot food and bar.
MONDAY
Southwick: Greenhill car boot site. Gates open 5.30pm. Advance tickets (from John Cadby Jewellers & Scholars) are £4 single and £10 family ticket. On the gate prices are £5 single and £15 family. Sponsored by Trowbridge Round Table.
