BROMLEY'S streets are brighter and cleaner than the average for London according to an Audit Commission report published last week.
The report provides national comparisons between councils for a range of environmental services.
It was revealed the council's street cleaning, its number of working street lights and food safety inspections, were above average and the number of bins missed by refuse collectors was below average.
One service it does fall down in, is recycling. But the council now collects paper from 95 per cent of households and intends introducing a composting service for green waste.
