POLICE are warning women to be alert following an attack on a 30-year-old in St Mary Cray by a man described as an “obvious threat to women”.

CID officers at Orpington have issued an e-fit of the man in a bid to identify him before he can strike again.

The pervert who has grey well-kept bushy hair and long bushy sideburns jumped out in front of the woman performing an indecent act and then grabbed her by the arm and tried to pull her away.

The local woman broke free and ran to the safety of her home where she rang the police. It is believed the assailant made off towards Cray Avenue.

The abduction attempt took place in Stanley Way, St Mary Cray, on Tuesday, February 20, at about 9.30pm.

Detectives think the elderly-looking attacker lay in wait for the 30-year-old after seeing her going into shops in Marion Crescent.

A police spokesman said: “This man is an obvious threat to women. The victim has been badly affected by the incident.”

The suspect is described as white, aged about 50, 5ft 10ins tall with grey bushy hair and sideburns.
