BRIAN ANDERSON has resigned as a director of Watford FC and its parent company, Watford Leisure PLC.

Anderson is likely to be leaving the UK with his family in the near future to live abroad, and feels that he will not be able to dedicate the timed needed as a director of the companies.

Chief executive Tim Shaw said that Anderson's decision would not have any financial implications for the Hornets, and added the club were "not particularly" looking to fill the vacancy on the board.

"I have enjoyed my time as a director immensely and I know that I will miss it," said the departing director. "Being involved with Watford FC has been one of the most exciting periods of my life and I've made many friends.

"However, my family and I have made a fundamental decision to emigrate and therefore this decision, although regrettable, goes hand-in-hand with that."
