A WOMAN who could face being deported by the Home Office has had her appeal in the High Court delayed for the second time.
Comfort Lawson, of South End Road, Beckenham, is backed by churches across the borough in her bid to stay here. The community member works tirelessly for charities linked to Beckenham Methodist Church. She arrived from Ghana in 1956 as a student nurse, aged 18. Ghana was still in the Common-wealth then, which meant she did not need a visa. Now the 60-year-old could be sent back even though her family is in Beckenham.
Her appeal, planned for October 8, has been put back to November 18.
