ECO-WARRIORS will rally at Crystal Palace Park on Monday to remind Bromley Council of the strength of feeling behind the campaign to stop bulldozers moving on to the site. Leaflets advertising the rally have been delivered to homes across the area.

Campaigners who want to stop a £58m leisure complex on the former Crystal Palace site want residents to join them on Monday.

The rally comes after secret peace talks -- ordered by High Court judges during an appeal hearing in September -- reached deadlock.

Eco-warrior Storm Poorun said: "The idea of the rally is to give people the chance again to make the council aware of how they feel.

"We need to show the strength of public support for what we're doing and we need funds to help with further appeals still going through court.

"It's a chance also for people to find out themselves what the latest news is."

A council spokesman said no date was known for the eviction. "We agreed not to take a decision until full planning permission is granted, as long as they leave peacefully now. The door is open if they want to come and talk."
