THE new inpatient mental health unit at Farnborough Hospital -- due to open in spring 2000 -- will be called Green Parks House.
It was named following a competition, won by a community psychiatric nurse.
The unit will comprise five purpose-built wards named after local parks -- Goddington, Betts, Scadbury, Norman and Cator.
Chief-executive of Oxleas NHS Trust, which will run the ward, Andrew Casey said: "Green Parks House will help us provide better health care for local people.
"It will mean a more therapeutic environment and greater privacy for patients and will ensure improved working arrangements for staff."
