AN ALPS loving centenarian cannot wait to jet off alone to the Italy despite turning 100.

Avid traveller Norrie Brouncker of Southend Road, Beckenham says she loves nothing more than the mountain air of the Austrian and Italian Alps.

And despite family and friends gathering to celebrate her cracking the century on Wednesday. Mrs Brouncker is already eyeing up an another overseas jaunt.

She said: "I just love the mountains and their scenery - so I try to travel to countries with mountains. My next trip will not be far this time, I have got Bruges in mind."

The jet-setter spends her time when she is in Beckenham playing piano duets with friend Mary Bridges - as well as attending musicals and designing and making her own clothes.

Another friend Betty Jackson said: "She is incredibly active and able for her age. She travels abroad once or twice a year and loves spending time in Italy."
