SWIMMERS and paddlers alike got together to raise money for charity at West Wickham Swimming Pool.
The 86 sponsored splashers, aged between three and 70, were cheered on at the Station Road pool by Hayes resident Chris Greener, the UK's tallest man.
Local celebrity Mr Greener, who is 7ft 6in tall, attended the event to give his support.
The swimmers had to cover various distances to raise money for Cancer Research and St Christopher's Hospice, in Sydenham.
Organiser Heather Thomas, who has organised nine sponsored swims since 1983 and raised more than £60,000, says the event was a great success.
Mrs Thomas, who began raising money for cancer charities after losing several friends to the killer disease, said: "It was a fantastic evening and everyone really enjoyed it.
"The great thing is that we may have raised up to £5,000 for Cancer Research, which would be a real boost."
