AN ex-Post Office employee died from an asbestos-related disease 20-years after coming into contact with the deadly substance, a coroner has ruled.
Arthur Brennan, 68, had worked for the post office transport division in Old Kent Road for eight years. The environment he worked in had been filled with asbestos.
The affects of his exposure did not show themselves until 20 years later when he died of asbestos-related illness, mesothelioma, in March last year.
A verdict of industrial disease was recorded.
