YOUNGSTER Tyrrell Hatton won't be overawed when he tees off in the Redgrave and Pinsent Golf Classic tomorrow according to his mum.

The 11-year-old from Oak Tree Road in Marlow was one of three winners in our fantastic Bucks Free Press competition and will now be lining up with the stars at the prestigious Harleyford Course.

And mum Karen Mackintosh reckons the 16 handicapper won't be suffering from an attack of nerves as he takes on the likes of Sir Steve Redgrave, Wasps coach Warren Gatland, Ray Wilkins, Matt Le Tissier, Tony Gubba, Stuart Storey, Robert Powell and Steve Rider at the prestigious golf day in aid of SPARKS (Sport Aiding Medical Research for Kids).

She said: "He'll take it all in his stride. It will just be another game of golf for him.

"But he's absolutely thrilled to bits. He just can't believe his luck and he's really looking forward to it."

Hatton plays at Beaconsfield Golf Club and, among his many honours, is the current Wycombe Heights Junior Masters champion.

His favourite players are Colin Montgomerie, Ernie Els and Tiger Woods and just like the world number one, Hatton was hitting golf balls as a toddler.

His mum added: "He took up golf seriously at the age of three but he was whacking golf balls around the garden from about 18 months."

Hatton will be playing on the BFP team with Hazlemere's Robert Clarke and Alan Bolam of Marlow.

Clarke will be representing Wycombe Heights Golf Club in the final of the National Association of Public Golf Courses Championship, otherwise known as the Forsters Bowl, on Sunday.

He said: "I was wondering when I would get a practice round in, it's worked out absolutely perfectly.

"I probably shouldn't be telling you this but I didn't even send off the coupon. It was my sister-in-law who did it for me."
