A FEMALE cyclist who was killed on a road near Trowbridge on Sunday after a car lost control and crashed into her has been named.
Elaine Mary Mills, 46, lived and worked in Trowbridge and her family, work colleagues and friends have been informed of her death.
The tragedy occurred at about 11.30am on Westwood Road, near Trowle Common.
Miss Mills was standing on the side of the road with another cyclist when the Citroen Xsara collided with them.
Her fellow cyclist was David McCallum, 56, from Trowbridge who is still in RUH with multiple fractures that are not life threatening.
They were both taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath after the incident, where Miss Mills later died from her injuries.
The two occupants of the Citroen were badly shaken but unhurt.
The road was closed for four hours while police investigations took place.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision or to anyone who saw the car or cyclists prior to the tragedy.
