Can you help Liam's family search?

A MAN researching his family history is looking for help to find information about his great great grandfather Charles Holland, from North Bradley.

He was born in about 1837 to John and Jemima Holland and initially lived in Ireland, and then in North Bradley when the 1841 census took place including various houses in Church Lane until 1901.

But his great great grandson Laim Kealy has no information about him after this date.

His son, Charles William Holland, moved to Barry in South Wales and had four children including Liam's grandmother Gladys Muriel Holland.

One of Charles Williams' sons - Stanley Charles Holland - may have moved back to the Trowbridge/North Bradley area but Liam is unable to find any information about him.

If anyone can help Liam, please contact him at Glynmeini, Hen Noyadd Road, Abercraf SA9 1UR or call him on 07967 020928 or email Liam_Kealy@hotmail.com

Many people are researching their family history (including me), why does this particular person get special attention in the newspaper?

Probably because he asked!

Hi,

sorry if I've caused any consternation. I wrote to the Wiltshire Times who I'd like to thank for publishing my letter. I really would be glad of any help. I've been to North Bradley and although I was able to see where my family came from and the houses they lived in I haven't got any further yet.

Spend some money on ancestory sites and they have history of families all over the world. spending £20 on finding your family...priceless.

Because he had the foresight and the intelligance to ask!

Good luck in your search Liam. Don't let the negative comments on here put you off.

Exactly! As our ol' Dad used to say, "If you don't ask, you don't get"

Thanks for the positive coments folks. Like most researching their family history I do use the various websites out there, as well as reading up on the area and visiting when I can. However you just can't find out everything on the web. For example one of Charles Hollands daughters, Ada, was born in the states in 1875.

I can't find any record why Charles - a weaver from North Bradley- went to the states, where he went or why he came back. Both my mother and aunty remember family tales about this but nothing else. So I'm only going to crack tales like this by visiting the area or by perhaps making contact with family members who stayed in Wiltshire and may know a bit more of the story.

Thanks for the help folks.

Liam
