A CHARITY nature centre near Trowbridge was broken into in the early hours of this morning.
June Fleming, who set up the Hope Nature Centre in Southwick Country Park to help young adults with learning difficulties, was woken from her bed at 2.30am by the automatic alarm system at the centre.
By the time she arrived at the centre the police were also there but the vandals had already made off.
They had broken through the front door, stolen a jar full of change being collected for the centre's new extension and broken into the office.
She said: "It's pure vandalism. But we have got them on CCTV and the police dog tracked them as far as Studley Green so we know where they are.
"The net is closing in on them - if they think they're going to get away with it they've got another think coming."

Police are investigating the incident and have recovered the CCTV footage.
They are looking for at least two young men.
The first is described as white, of medium build, wearing a hip length jacket, trousers, gloves and a balaclava similar to a Spiderman mask.
The second male is described as white, of smaller build, skinny, wearing gloves, a dark hoody with writing on and possibly a Batman-type logo on it and with two lighter draw cords hanging down, jogging trousers and light trainers.
He was carrying a small sack, and had his face uncovered.
The police sniffer dog tracked the men to the St John's Crescent area on Studley Green.
Anyone with information should contact Trowbridge police on 0845 4087000.

Litz, talking from first hand experience so stop the name calling, you think someones ignorance is on a par with the crime reported, not too bright are you?

Sorry I meant SCRUPLES. It's just I am so mad about the amount of this behaviour that is happening more and more! What with this and people being attacked in the park, what is the town becoming?

Probably the same scum who set fire to part of this cafe a few months back - though sadly that was before the CCTV was installed and so will be difficult to prove.

What is happening to some of the young people in Trowbridge? They seem to have no values or morals. I worry about the future. I can honestly say I feel nervous in the Town now.

June is a wonderful lady and she and her team along with those who also help are doing a great job. The all day breakfasts at the centre are really good. Also the other meals, snacks, drinks etc are wonderful.
I think their extension money will soon be found.

Boy 1
"balaclava similar to a Spiderman mask."
Boy 2
"Batman-type logo on it"
Maybe these guys (superheroes) were actually trying to thwart a robbery but got scared off by the police?
The net is tightening on the 'Dynamic Duo'.
Hopefully these chaps will be cuaght, the money returned and the extension built.
Tip:
Arrest the first 9 year old who buys an XBox at Curries with nothing but 2p's

Unless a bottle of 2p's now has legal representation.
Yes it may be a wonderful centre, it still will be after replacing a window or two.
Admittedly the extension may be a little further off but thats the only 'victim' with this crime.
If you dont laugh you cry, try laughing a little more, 95% of us are all cried out.
