THE Black Swan pub in Trowbridge will be converted into flats if plans are given the thumbs-up at a meeting tonight.
Monarch Building based in Bromham has submitted plans to turn the pub building into five flats and build a further three terraced homes on the car park.
Inaccuracies meant the plans were delayed at a previous council meeting in February.

West Wiltshire District Council's planning committee is due to make a decision tonight.
Planning officers at the council are recommending the flats plan to be approved, but the terraced homes be refused.

This is one of the best pubs in Trowbridge. I spent loadsa time in there when I was at college, and it's the only pub I go into now to watch the football. Are the council determined to get rid of every last bit of decency Trowbridge has, by knocking good places like this down?
Knock somewhere crap down, like the Malt House, or the whole of Longfield estate

I could come up with a serious list of crud in Trowbridgeski I would like to see razed, but it wouldn't leave much I'm afraid.
Those of us that are Trowbridge born and bred may not find your comment very popular. I have lived here all my life and yes, there are some areas of Trowbridge that could benefit from some regeneration, but I certainly would n't agree with your comment. Besides, if you feel that strongly about our little town, why are you still here?
