Ian Thomas of The Caravan, Longbridge Deverill Farm, near Warminster is accused of attempted robbery at Westbury Racing on Wednesday March 19.
No charges were put to the 41-year-old during a brief hearing on Friday and he did not enter a plea.
He was released on conditional bail to Friday May 16 when he is due to enter his plea.
