Tea break

1:24pm Thursday 10th April 2008

RE the letter in the last issue of the Wiltshire Times concerning the A36 closure at Limpley Stoke. I travel the same route on Monday mornings to help out at the RUH as a volunteer.

Last week there were two sets of traffic lights along the A36 when I travelled, at about 7am, which stopped all traffic going towards Bath. At each one I was asked where I was going and then waived on. The men were doing a great job, after all not everybody would have been fully conversant with the road closure point.

I realise that I probably travelled earlier than your writer, but the men were not standing around and drinking tea but were doing a helpful and very worthwhile job.
