Hospital gone

2:36pm Thursday 17th April 2008

YOUR paper may well be top performer for 2007, but do you really know what is going on in Trowbridge? Apparently not.

Was there anything in your paper to say thank you to all the hardworking nurses of Trowbridge Community Hospital, which closed to all inpatients on March 31 2008, or a look back at the history of the hospital? No.

Do the community know that the PCT plan to close the Maternity Unit at Trowbridge in December this year, a year earlier than planned.

The nurses of Trowbridge feel under valued as it is by the PCT, never mind its local community. Some have even served the community of Trowbridge for over 25 years but nothing is said about them.

I find it sad that the county town of Wiltshire no longer has a hospital, and it's even more upsetting that the hard-working staff have not even been acknowledged.
