Action call

1:52pm Friday 19th September 2008

A few weeks ago my father-in-law was the victim of a cruel con.

A familiar story: 90-year-old is duped by fake council workers with fake ID taken out to look at the drains and money stolen from his home in Southway, Trowbridge.

My sister and brother-in-law live just opposite and would have intervened had they been able to see what was happening.

Unfortunately their view is obstructed by several large bushes growing on the grass area in front of my father-in-law's house.

In spite of repeated representations from my sister-in-law and the police, Selwood Housing Society has taken no action to remove these useless bushes as requested.

They clearly serve no purpose and are used as toilets by passing late night drunks.

I am sure the cost of removing these bushes would be small and what price can we put on the safety and security of our senior citizens?

So come on Selwood get your act together and remove these useless and dangerous eyesores.
