VOICES of children were recorded for posterity as part of a special project at a Trowbridge school.
Pupils at the Grove Primary School recorded a CD to mark the leaving of Year 6 pupils at the end of term. Year 6 teacher Liz Osgood said: "It started as something for the Year 6 children to do but then we thought it would be fun for all the children to take part."
Each year group at the school sang one or two songs, under the watchful eye of an expert from Burnley-based company School Recording Stars, then all of the nearly 400 pupils got together for a couple of final songs.
"They were brilliant. We impressed on them the sensitivity of the microphone and they were all completely silent as soon as they needed to be."
The Grove has built up strong links with a school in the Gambia and proceeds from sales of the CD will be used to help children in that school.
