Bedford’s best wins first title

Trowbridge student Alex Bedford, pictured with team-mate Fiona Easton, produced a season's best to win his first grade one trampoline title at Macclesfield at the weekend.

His spectacular routine also saw Bedford qualify for the men's elite competition, despite being just 17-years-old. The Clarendon College pupil will travel to Birmingham in July for the British Championships, where he will be joined by Evolution team-mate Fiona Easton. Fiona, from Frome, qualified for the grade one national finals after finishing seventh in one of the most competitive age groups in the competition. Team-mates Olly Munro and Adam Smith also travelled with the squad to Macclesfield, although neither made it through to the finals of their respective age groups.
