Bouncers return home with medals

2:48pm Wednesday 24th October 2007

Members of the Evolution Trampoline Club are celebrating their best ever result after taking 13 medals at the Levo Cup competition in Sweden at the weekend.

Individually, 12-year-old Rhianna Andrew took the gold in the younger youth category, closely followed by team-mate Becca Tamin, who took silver, and who was also very closely followed by Lauren Gale and Erin Slater third and fourth respectively. The younger youth group was rounded off with Corrina Chmiel who took sixth place.

In the youth boys' event Warren Moreland stole the show and after two fantastic routines was in second place. The final was a tense event but his determination to succeed shone through and he took the second gold medal.

The youth girls' event was also hotly contested. This was the first year for some of the girls in this event and they did themselves proud. Fiona Easton took gold with team-mate Izzie Earl Higgs taking bronze.

The girls then went on to compete in the synchro event where Erin Slater and Lauren Gale took the bronze medal.

The final trampoline events were for elite boys where Alex Bedford and Adam Smith took the gold medal in the synchronised event. Pete Cracknell won the silver medal in the men's event.

After the trampoline events the competitors took part in the double mini tramp event. The girls was a tough group but they all did well and Izzie Earl Higgs and Becca Tamin took second and third respectively.

Head coach Sarah Hunt said: "As a coaching team we are so proud of the children and their achievements. They represented themselves, their club and the country excellently and it is a privilege to work with them all. We would especially like to thank Shaun Gale, Taz Tamin and Andy Bedford for transporting us at all hours in the morning."

This is the third year that the club has attended the event and for the third time the squad size had increased.

The squad was: Pip Higgs, Izzie Earl Higgs, Rhianna Andrew, Fiona Easton, Lauren Deaker, Caitlin Skeates, Warren Moreland, Pete Cracknell, Alex Bedford, Adam Smith, Erin Slater, Lauren Gale, Becca Tamin, Corrina Chmiel, Jo Candow, Holly Smith.

The club caters for all ages and abilities, if you would be interested in taking part please visit our website at www.evolutiontrampolineclub.co.uk or on 07877 533999.
