RUGBY: Swindon 2nd 12 Melksham 21

Melksham wrapped up the points in the first half but had to fend off a spirited Swindon comeback to seal the victory.

Luke Jones opened the scoring, gathering a drop ball and touching down between the posts. Callum Hurn duly converted.

Hurn obliged again when Johnny Mills scored centrally from David Dyke’s offload.

Number eight Phill Williams crashed over the line following a penalty just before the interval, with Hurn’s kick successful to hand the visitors a 21-0 half-time advantage.

Melksham were disrupted by the loss of Dyke through injury in the second period and conceded twice, but held on to remain third in the table.
