WILTSHIRE SUNDAY CUP PREVIEW: Jager seek semi-final spot
5:00pm Friday 1st February 2013 in Sport
WILTSHIRE Sunday Cup holders FC Jager will have to be at their very best if they are to remain in the hunt to retain the trophy they won last term by beating Greyhound 2-1.
Top Swindon League outfit New Century WMC stand in the way of Barry Holloway’s side joining fellow league sides AFC Melksham and Biddestone Social in the last four and they will be favourites to deny Holloway’s men, who have not played since beating Rodbourne on penalties to reach this stage.
Jager will go into the game missing a host of key players due to their commitments to their Western League sides who are playing on either Monday or Tuesday evening.
That could lead to their downfall against the current leaders of the Swindon League Division One.
Should Jager have the desire for the game and Holloway get the best out of his side they could actually go all the way again, but it will be a big ask as New Century have lost just one game to date and that was against AFC Gas who are also in the last four of the competition.
