CHIPPENHAM SUNDAY LEAGUE DIVISION FOUR PREVIEW: Dragonz and Rangers meet at Whaddon Lane
3:30pm Friday 15th February 2013 in Sport
Sportzcoach Dragonz United, who missed out on the chance to close the gap on both FC North Wiltshire and Old Road at the top of Division Four last weekend, will look to seize another opportunity this Sunday.
Sportzcoach have given up home advantage and will travel to Trowbridge Rangers (Sunday) in a rescheduled game in the hope of getting a match played.
Should Sportzcoach, who won the reverse match 4-1 but who have not won in three, pick up a much-needed two points they will put themselves very much back in the battle for a top two finish.
FC United of Chippenham are scheduled to host Worton & Cheverell (Sunday) at Stanley Park and if the fixture should beat the weather it will the latter their first outing since the start of January when they defeated FC United 10-3.
Worton are tipped to complete a double over their fellow newcomers, but the score line should be a lot closer as Dudley Philpott’s men will be eager to avenge their previous loss.
Both Oakhill FC and Melksham Cosmos were in action last Sunday and go into their game at Kington Langley on the back of mixed results.
The former suffered a 2-1 loss to Trowbridge Town Supporters Club while Cosmos snatched a late win over FC United of Chippenham.
Cosmos edged a seven-goal thriller when the sides last met and they will be favourites to claim another narrow win over their hosts.
Having played their first game in over two months last weekend, Trowbridge Town Supporters Club will be hoping to build on their 2-1 win away at Oakhill when they host Crossblades at what so far this term has been a very wet Bratton.
Despite having played as many as seven games fewer than teams above them in the table, Kevin Williams side are very much in the title race.
But they will have to work extra hard to get anything from the game as Crossblades are proving a hard side to beat this term.
